Udupi, Sep 19: A capacity building programme on 'Cyber Safety and Security' conducted by Centre of Excellence, Bengaluru was held on September 16 for the teaching staff of St Mary’s English Medium School, Kannarpady.
The training programme was inaugurated by lighting the lamp. Principal Fr Johnson Sequeira in his introductory remarks said that the knowledge of cyber safety is necessary to navigate the digital landscape safely and effectively. He introduced the resource persons and extended the note of welcome. Correspondent Fr Charles Menezes in his message highlighted the need of cyber awareness for teachers to keep the young generation safe and secured.
Sheela Balamurali, master trainer, CBSE, principal of Delhi Public School, MRPL, Mangaluru and Suresh M Mahalingapura, principal, Sri Sri Ravishankar Vidyamandir, Mangaluru, CBSE trainer, Centre of Excellence for Bengaluru and Pune were the resource persons. Various aspects of cyber security such as cyber crime, digital forensic, cloud security, intellectual property rights, cyber awareness initiatives were thoroughly brainstormed during the training session through group discussions, debates and interactive sessions. Total 60 teachers from various sections of the school participated in this training programme.
