Doha, Sep 20: Karnataka Sangha Qatar (KSQ) in association with Indian Cultural Center celebrated Engineers Day with science exhibitions from Indian schools of Qatar on September 16 at ICC Ashok Hall, to commemorate the birth anniversary of Bharat Ratna Sir M Visvesvarayya.
Indian ambassador to Qatar Vipul was chief guest of the evening, Mohammed, Jabor head of operations from Katara cultural village and engineer Fahid Al-Henzab, head of project NZLD from Qatar chemicals Ltd were the guests of honour.
The programme began with lighting the lamp. KSQ president Mahesh Gowda delivered the welcome keynote. A small documentary video presented elaborating life story of Sir Visvesvarayya. Twelve different Indian based school teams presented engineering models in science exhibition. KSQ president Mahesh Gowda and ICC president Manikantan A P escorted the chief guest and dignitaries to show exhibition tour presented by the school teams.
A technical talk on topic ‘Aeration Process’ was presented by engineer Arwinder Singh Awathar Singh, senior engineer, Ashgal-Public works authority. A small stage programme was held. KSQ president Mahesh Gowda and ICC president Manikantan A P P escorted the chief guest and dignitaries to the stage. All participated school teams in exhibitions were honoured with memento and certificate.
Addressing the gathering, Indian Ambassador Vipul highlighted Indian engineers’ contributions back in India and outside country, and briefed contributions of engineers towards bilateral relations of countries.
The stage programme was compered by versatile toast master Sameer Moosa. ICC general secretary Mohan Kumar proposed the vote of thanks.
