Physically challenged beggar murdered in Gurugram


Gurugram, Sep 20 (IANS): A 45-year-old physically challenged beggar was found murdered with his head  smashed with bricks on Basai Road in Gurugram, police said on Wednesday.

The deceased was identified as Sonu, a native of Faridabad who used to earn his living by begging outside the temple on Basai Road.

“We got a call on Wednesday about a man lying by the roadside. People living in the vicinity identified him as a beggar who used to live in the area," ACP Naveen Kumar said.

"Some bricks were recovered from the site by the police team. Many injury marks were also found on the body of the deceased. Initial investigation revealed that the person was beaten to death with bricks," he added.

The police have taken the body into custody and sent it for an autopsy. "We are trying to identify the accused by scanning the footage of a CCTV installed nearby,” Kumar said.
