Mangaluru: Mount Carmel Central School holds alumni meet

Mangaluru, Sep 21: Mount Carmel Central School, Mangaluru organized an alumni meet 'Rencontre Des Anciens', to reconnect and celebrate the memories.

The programme commenced with the invocation song and welcome dance by the students. The prinicipal Sr Melissa welcomed the gathering and introduced the key note speaker Dr Richard Gonsalves, the former president of St Aloysius College Alumni Association. She was overwhelmed to see the alumni in such a large number embrace the roots of their alma mater.

The chief guest Dr Richard Gonsalves in his key note address applauded the big gathering of the Alumni. He briefed the students about the objectives of an alumni association, and recommended a few activities to strengthen the association. This was followed by acknowledging and felicitating 7 alumni achievers from different fields – Aren Joy Fernandes, Manish K, Vineeth Kumar, Amica Frank, Mayur D Shetty, Alyson D'Silva and Abdul Kader Sahal. The administrator Sr Carissima conducted the election to the Executive Committee and motivated the ex-students to join hands with the institution in the activities that promote growth of everyone.

As the refreshments were served, the former students fixed their eyes on the video of a flashback memory of their journey in the school followed by a few alumni reminiscing the beautiful memories spent in the campus. Teachers Jacqueline emceed the programme, Purnima presented the achievers, Sandra, Jyotsna, Ireal and Nishain conducted the games and Sylvia delivered the note of gratitude. The alumni meet ended with former students meeting one another and their teachers, sharing joys, excitement, clicking photos, selfies etc. It was indeed enjoyable and relaxing.
