Udupi, Sep 22: “We will not tolerate any moral policing,” said minister Lakshmi Hebbalkar speaking about a moral policing video in Kaup that has gone viral. “We will take all the legal actions. It is the duty of every citizen of India to bow before law,” she said.
Regarding the passing of women’s reservation bill in the parliament, she said that as a woman she welcomes wholeheartedly the directions of Modi. “Congress was in favour of women since the beginning. Congress had tried to get the bill passed. Rajiv Gandhi brought about 50% reservations. Strong determination is needed for such work. I congratulate Prime Minister Modi. Indira Gandhi brought about the Act that one who ploughs is the owner of the land. Rajiv Gandhi reduced the voting age to 18. I praise Modi because he has done a big job.”
“Regarding the list of drought affected taluks by the state government, there are 14 drought affected taluks in Belagavi district. There is no politics in the announcement. The announcement is made considering the amount of rainfall. The second list is expected. Some more districts will be declared as drought affected if it does not rain,” she said.
