Kundapura, Sep 22: “There is hard work behind the growth and success of Dr Srinivas Shetty Halady and the rise to his current status. The life history of such people is a beacon for us to progress,” said state government women and children’s welfare minister Lakshmi Hebbalkar.
She was speaking after inaugurating the home town felicitation to Dr Srinivas Shetty Halady, recipient of doctorate of science, president of Mysore Mercantile Company and Hegunje Rajiv Shetty Charitable Society, held under the leadership of Dr Srinivas Shetty Halady Huttoora Sanmana Samithi at Srimathi Shalini G Shanker Convention Centre here.
“Dr Srinivas Shetty gives importance to education and extends helping hand to the society. Very few people respond to the needs of society in the form of god,” she said.
Kundapura MLA Kiran Kumar Kodgi presided over the programme. Former speaker K Pratapchandra Shetty felicitated Dr Srinivas Shetty Halady couple.
Dr Srinivas Shetty responding to the felicitations said that a publicschool is coming up under the joint participation of central and state governments for the first time. “It will be inaugurated in December. I have decided to combine 4-5 government schools in Halady and form a public school. I will announce it in due course,” he said.
Vedamurthy Tattuvattu Vasudev Joisa Halady gave a discourse.
