Karkala, Sep 23: District in charge minister Laxmi Hebbalkar visited Parashurama Theme Park, which is marred by controversies.

Accusations were heard that the statue of Parashurama is a duplicate one. Laxmi inspected the statue. The center project director was absent during the inspection. Locals expressed rage against the project director. Nirmiti Kendra had undertaken the construction work of the park. Laxmi Hebbalkar held separate meeting with the officials. She took the officer of Nirmiti Kendra to task.

Speaking to media, Laxmi said, “No one should play with the sentiments of people. Many people had urged me to visit this park. Some matters came to my notice also. Today I have seen with my own eyes. I will speak to officials in detail. I have not come here to accuse anyone. Politics is played over feelings. This is brought to my notice.

“It requires time to complete huge work like Theme park. When elections were near the work of this park is done fast in order to mislead people. I will do everything with the limits of law. Officials said that they did the work due to undue pressure.

“I have come here to secure the safety of locals and tourists rather than play politics. If any accident occurs which department will take the responsibility? This area is prone to heavy winds and downpour. I will get report from the departments. We will also give notice to the statue manufacturer. Safety of people is more important than politics. Give me opportunity to work. I will definitely give results,” she said.
