Mangaluru: Congress guarantees are answers to opposition criticism - Bangarappa

Mangaluru, Sep 23: Congress governments guarantee schemes are the answers to opposition criticism, said minister for primary and secondary education Madhu Bangarappa.
Addressing media persons here on Sunday, September 23, Madhu Bangarappa said, "We have implemented the guarantees within 120 days of coming to power in the state. In order to hide their defeat the opposition parties are criticising the guarantee schemes. Siddarammaih is firm on implementing all the schemes promised in the manifesto."
He said the programmes initiated by the Congress government is helping the poor. "The schemes which was introduced by my father Bangarappa are still functioning. We need not answer the Opposition as our schemes itself are providing the answers. In the coming days we will implement all the promises mentioned in the manifesto," Madhu Bangarappa said.
"We will increase KPS schools and there will be one school in 2-3 grama panchayats. Now there are 300 schools in the coming days we are planning to have 1-3 schools in each constituency," he said.
The weight of school bag should be lowered, if not halved. He said the weight of school bags should be lowered by at least a third of what the children are carrying on their backs. "There is a need to increase the number of students in government schools," he said.
