Bantwal: Accused absconding since 9 yrs apprehended by rural police

Bantwal, Sep 25: The rural police have successfully arrested an individual who had been evading authorities for the past nine years, refusing to attend court hearings. Following his arrest, the police have placed him in judicial custody for a period of 15 days.

The accused, Mohammed Shafi, son of Mohammad, is a resident of Krishnapura Chokkabettu. He was implicated in a theft case that took place within the jurisdiction of the Bantwal rural police station in 2017. Additionally, he has multiple cases registered against him across various police stations in Dakshina Kannada district, including Bantwal City, Vittal, Uppinangady, Beltangady, and Konaje.

Acting on reliable information, a team of law enforcement officers from Bantwal rural police, including Inspector Shivkumar and Sub-Inspectors Harish, Murthy, Ganesh Prasad, Punit Kumar, Vijayakumar, and Ramzan, successfully apprehended the accused in Puttur.

    he had good time during chaddi rule...now with our just and honest Sidda Devaraya who is truly secular...criminals are caught from every nook and corner...in the past three months double number of criminals are caught than the total four years rule of chaddis.
