Mangaluru: Days of prayer & reflection held at Carmel School

Mangaluru, Sep 25: Two days of imploration were systematized by Sister Lily Pushpa- principal, Dr Sister Prem D'Souza, administrator and Sister Premal, vice principal on September 21- 22 that indeed relighted and magnified the relationship of the Carmel Family with the almighty.

Both the days of spiritual growth commenced with holy mass and crowned with eucharistic adoration for the Catholic students and teachers. 

 

For students of Grades 6-10 Sr Severine and Sr Caroline, congregation of St Ann’s of Providence and Brahma Kumari sisters- Sharavathi , Naina, Shalini, Sneha, Anita and Brothers Kartik and Pratap took up interesting sessions on a) Touch the Light b) Godly Knowledge Treasures c) Attributes of the Mind d) Life Skills Education e) Ladder of Success for Personality Growth Development f) Attitudinal Changes and g) Leadership – developing Principle. Each topic was well marinated with right measure of select quotes, anecdotes, activities, stories and vignettes that enlightened the younger generation, to live life in its fullness and beauty.

Fr Ashwin Lohith Cardoza director of ICYM, Mangalore Diocese and Fr Paul Sebastian D'Souza -assistant parish priest of Kulshekar and Mangalore Diocesan assistant estate officer accentuated on a) Walking with the Word b) Meaning of Retreat and Eucharist c) Map of Consciousness d) Hidden Treasures-discovering Principle e) Prayer-applying Principle for the Catholic Students of Grades 6-10 and Fr Vijay Machado - director, DBCLC, Bajodi enlightened the educators on self-management, IFT Model, Identifying the problem areas and problem -solving Techniques-applying principles and processes involved in leading a balanced life.

He also dealt with anger and stress -management principles. Each theme was a nugget of wisdom and borne of personal experiences and educative vision. The limpid and gripping style of presentation of the preachers offered the participants an invitation to make life meaningful and joyful.

The inaugural ceremony held on the first day was compered by Hazel Rodrigues. Alice Pinto and Asha Gowri welcomed and introduced the resource persons to the gathering.

On the whole it was precious time for the participants to withdraw a couple of hours from the hustle and bustle of earthly life in order to spend some quality time in communion with the Omnipotent, Omniscient and Omnipresent God.
