Doha: MCA marks celebration of Nativity feast 2023 with cultural fiesta

Doha, Sep 25: The Mangalore Cultural Association (MCA) - Qatar celebrated Monti Fest with great splendour and grandeur on September 22 at the Ashoka Hall, ICC Doha. The program began at 6 pm with MCA's theme song which was sung by the members.

A prayer song performed by MCA kids marked an apt opening to the evening program. The prayer song performed by Virgil Prince Monteiro, Winson Chris Baretto, Verina Adeline Mascarenhas, Maverick Norbert Mascarenhas, Eshal Niya DCunha, Eshaan Neev DCunha, Leora Ivanna Pinto, Dionna Vinola Britto, Raynel Aaron D'Souza, Rachel Helma Fernandes, Reuben Harsh Fernandes, Keith Aaron Fernandes, Ethan D'Souza, Angelina D'Souza, Maroushka Fernandes, Ariston Johan D'Souza, Anjes Cecil Pinto, Nestor keaton Fernandes, Brianna Jenisha Britto, Sheldon Rio Misquith, Regan Savio Misquith, Rowen Shepherd Misquith, Abigail Eva D'Souza, Joanna Angel D'Souza, Swedel Castelino, Sheryl Castelino and Prenia Adel Pinto.

 

 

Fr Joel Lopes, OFM cap Mangalore, visitor priest to Our Rosary of Church was chief guest of the evening. Fr Joel Lopes and MCA Advisory member Felix Lobo were escorted to the stage by president Aloysius DSouza and vice president Sandeep Noronha for a short stage program. The blessed Novem was distributed to the gathering.

President, Aloysius DSouza welcomed the gathering and briefed about the upcoming programs that MCA has listed out for the year and Aloysius invite the members for upcoming event of free medical health check-up along with Wellkins Medical Centre on October 6.

Meantime MCA honored academic excellence achievers in the year 2022-23 with plague and certificates as an encouragement and appreciation to them along with their parents.The honourees were Viola Monteiro, Waylon Mendonca, Louvain Remy Quadros, Anusha Ajai Rodrigues, Steve Lobo, Astra Julia Pinto and Rebecca Joanne Dcunha.

Advisory member, Felix Lobo addressed the gathering and gave a Monti feast wishes. Fr Joel Lopes has given Monti Feast Message to all the gatherings. Melita Lobo, joint cultural secretary proposed the vote of thanks.

A beautiful dance was performed by Siona Angel DSilva, Princia Annie Pinto, Nicole Crasta, Derrick Crasta, Michelle Loovis, DionnaVinolaBritto for song ‘Ye Phoola Bai ye’  choreographed by Derrick Crastamarked opening to the evening’s unambiguous cultural show.

A skit ‘Kuru Kuru Mama’ performed by Anil Fernandes, JesinthaMendonca and Saviouscrasta caught the audience in rib giggling laughing moments.

Another group dance ‘Madime Daye Ayena’ theme choreographed by Jyothi Jovial DSouza performed by Derrick Crasta, George Menezes, Denis D'souza, Raison Ferrao, Agnel Ullas D'Souza, Astrida D'Souza, Melita D'Souza, Pramila D'Souza, Rayshel D'Souza and Gracy Danty kept the audience into the stepping mood.

Another duet dance performed by Sandria Carol Rodrigues and Divya Fernandes enthralled the audience with Mangalorean dance flavour.

Sandeep Noronha, Jyothi Jovial D'Souza and George Menezes entertained the audience with rib tickling skit ‘BaylechoBongosthol’.

Medley song beautifully performed by MCA singers, Naveen Pinto, Sonia Pinto, Naith, Sanuel Jayden D'Souza, Pramila Monteiro, Naveen pinto, Christle Pinto, Clement Fernandes, Anjali Andrade, Jovita Pereira, Naveen D'Souza, Wilson Mendonca and Rupert Lobo, which left the audience beautiful memories with their outstanding performance on the song.

Some of rapid fire quiz were conducted to the audience and winners were awarded with beautiful gifts. Movie director Melwin Elpel was honoured for his generous technical support during the event.

Freeda Seema Monteiro compered the stage program in her inimitable style and won the hearts of many. Another Versatile anchor Lavita Rodrigues compered the cultural program along withQatar Konkani comedy actor Amith Mathias in a character of ‘BotlerBosthu’, which made the audience in a fun filling laughter evening. Overall cultural program much appreciated from the audience and audience left the hall with beautiful memories.

The home cooked scrumptious traditional vegetarian “Novem Jevann” that was prepared by the MCA Committee members and honorary members was relished by all gathering with great appreciation.

Meantime, MCA vice president Sandeep Noronha made the announcement on upcoming tulu movie ‘Raapata’ premier show on September  29 and whole heartedly thanked all the sponsors, supporters MC members and honorary members, especially who cooked and arranged dinner for the event and making the event grand success. Malabar Gold & Diamonds, Akshaya Jewellery were support sponsors of the event.

MCA in association with Wellkins Medical Centre is going to conduct a free medical health check-up camp open to all on October 6.
