Mangaluru, Sep 25: A police team under the leadership of Ullal police station inspector H N Balakrishna got an illegal sand laden pick-up vehicle stopped, arrested the accused and seized the sand load and the vehicle.
Harekala Debbeli resident Nazim (20) was the arrested accused. Acting on a tip-off that the accused was extracting and transporting sand from Kallapu Kudru Netravati river bank, the police stopped the pick-up vehicle and arrested Nazim near Kallapu.
A case in this connection has been registered at Ullal police station. The accused has been produced to the court.
