Mangaluru: Ambulance hits rickshaw; auto driver, child injured in mishap

Mangaluru, Sep 26: An ambulance collided with an auto rickshaw here at Padil on Tuesday, September 26.

The auto rickshaw and the 108 ambulance were on the way to Mangaluru. The ambulance was carrying a patient inside while the auto rickshaw was carrying tiles in it. Onlookers said three people were travelling in the auto rickshaw.

The auto rickshaw driver and a child were injured and were taken to hospital.

Due to the accident, the tiles in the auto rickshaw were completely damaged and were broken into pieces as they lie scattered on the road.

The ambulance hit the auto rickshaw from behind.

As a result of the accident there was traffic congestion for a while.

    I may be wrong; but I have seen personally of most people being gotten insensitive to ambulance sirens that they would not move their vehicle a few feet to give way to the anxious ambulance driver carrying a patient who's life's running out of time!!

    Actuelly to say the truth ,I feel tiles were too heavy to carry in a rickshaw.Should have been taken in a different vehicle.Most important we see here,due to accident more people were on road to take a foto than to clear the road or help the injured.More chaos .When more weight rickshaw cant move to make place for ambulance.However hope the injured are now out of danger .

    Ambulance drivers should drive carefully, ambulances are meant to save lives....and limbs.
