Udupi: Four trucks seized for illegal transporting asphalt, sand

Udupi, Sep 28: Police confiscated four trucks near Udyavar that were illegally transporting asphalt and sand in the midst of strike by truck owners and drivers.

Three 16-wheeler trucks and one tipper was confiscated.

They were transporting asphalt and M sand without trip sheets and GPS. They were carrying 20 tonnes of M sand and 65 tonnes of asphalt without the necessary documents and GPS.

The trucks were carrying building material to outstation districts from Udupi. A tipper driver also drove the vehicle in haphazard manner and hit a scooter rider. Fortunately, the scooter rider escaped without injuries.

The operation was led by city police station SI Manjappa.

    may be not given 60% ... 4 trucks only eyewash to people like kadima to be happy ..there are hundreds of trucks moving around in odd time thats why interior roads are so badly damaged
