Udupi, Sep 29: The installation ceremony of the office bearers of National Service Scheme (NSS), Youth Red Cross(YRC) and Rotaract Club of ShriMadhwaVadiraja Institute of Technology and Management, Bantakal for the year 2023-24 was held on September 27 in the Institute premises.
Dr Gananath Yekkar, former State NSS Officer, joint secretary, Government of Karnataka was the chief guest on the occasion and inaugurated the program by lighting the lamp. In his Inaugural address to the gathering, he said that NSS will give opportunities to students in the community development service programs and enable them to get experience by exposure to the life outside educational institutions. Also, he mentioned that NSS provides discipline, Service attitude, leadership skills coexistence among the students.
Guest of honor Rtr. Shruthi Shenoy, district Rotaract representative, Rotary Shankarapura, briefly explained the importance of Rotaract Club, and congratulated the new office bearers and members. The oath taking process was carried out by Rtn. George D’Silva, President, Rotary Shankarapura.
Prof Dr ThirumaleshwaraBhat, principal of SMVITM, in his presidential address said that all the students must have definite and proper goals in the life and need to put sincere efforts to reach their destination and congratulated all the newly elected office bearers of NSS-YRC-RC Unit.
Officials from Rotary Shankarpura, vice principal, deans, HoDs, staff members and students were present during the function.
For the academic year 2023-24, Swaroop Kumar and Anshuman were sworn in as the president of NSS-YRC Unit and Rotaract Club respectively; Ramya Deshapande and Pratham L Kamath as the secretaries of NSS-YRC Unit and RC respectively.
Nagaraja Rao, coordinator of NSS-YRC-RC Unit welcomed the gathering. Shreya Thantry, final year ECE invoked the blessings from the Almighty. Anshuman proposed a vote of thanks. The program was compeered by Ankitha.
