Manipal, Sep 30: Dr H S Ballal, pro chancellor MAHE flagged off the 'Nasha Mukth Daud' organized by Team Nation First in association with Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE) on Saturday September 30.
The 'Nasha Mukhth Daud' was organized as the valedictory event of 20-day free Agniveer training camp organized for the Agniveer aspirants. MAHE supported the cause and has arranged for the food facility for the aspirants.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr HS Ballal said, “It is a very good thought of organizing a free training camp for Agniveer aspirants. All of the camp attendees are now ready to be qualified for the Agniveer tests. Today, the defence sector has greater opportunities along with many additional benefits. The retired defence personnel also get many job opportunities in various fields. Youths from Udupi should also participate in such sessions and get selected for the defence forces in large numbers."
Col Prakshchandra, former defence personnel and director of general services, motivating the students said, “Defence forces demonstrate the notion of how we should build our nation as one unit. It is a very great cause. Today's run is organized for creating awareness on drug awareness, not just among the students, but among the entire society. There are very few Indian army officers from Udupi district. We need to create awareness that most of us from our district join the defence forces."
The run started from MAHE Manipal, went along the Manipal, Udupi city areas and ended in Malpe. Participants of the training camp, students of various colleges participated in the run.
Dr Narayan Sabahit, pro vice chancellor technology and science, Dr Nipun Sharma, pro vice chancellor, Dr P Giridhar Kini, registrar, Mahesh Thakur, vice president Karnataka state athletic association, Raghupati Bhat, advisor Team Nation First, and officials of MAHE were present.
