Kadaba: Third grade girl writes letter to CM on tobacco sale near school, shop fined

Kadaba, Oct 1: Acting on a letter written by a third standard student of a school to the chief minister, the Kadaba police raided a shop selling tobacco products near the school and registered a case against the shop owner.

Ayora, a third standard student of Bilinele Kaikamba School wrote a letter to the editor of a newspaper for publication in the letters column regarding the sale of tobacco products near her school. This letter written by her was dispatched to the chief minister's office by the newspaper staff and within a few hours of the letter reaching the CM's office police acted on her complaint.

A report was published in the newspaper regarding the prohibition on sale of tobacco products near places of worship and religious centres. After reading this report, the schoolgirl learnt that the same rule pertaining to prohibition on sale of tobacco products within 100 metres of a school was applicable. She noticed a wrapper of a tobacco product lying on the ground near the school and brought this to the notice of her parents. She then dashed off a letter to a newspaper office after her parents told her to do so. The newspaper office staff have forwarded this letter to the chief minister's office.

When Kadaba police raided a shop near Kaikamba school which was owned by one Naveen who ran the fancy and a footwear shop it was found that the shop was selling tobacco products.

The police registered a case against the shopowner and levied a fine on him.

    I am sure girl herself has writtten but with help of someone ,insipiration .She will not have so much thoughts and wisdom to write to newspaper etc.Someone must have helped.But brave girl.
