Billawas Dubai and Northern Emirates to Hold Blood Donation Camp

Dubai, Aug 20: Billawas Dubai (BD) and Northern Emirates (NE) will organize a 'Blood Donation’ Campaign as a special programme on the auspicious month of Ramadan at Al Wasl Hospital, Dubai on Wednesday August 24 from 6.30 pm to 10 pm

Billawas Dubai and Northern Emirates urged all to donate blood so that blood bank can serve the needy. They also said that by contributing blood one can save human kind and be happy to have saved a life.


With the announcement of a blood donatio camp Billawas Dubai and Northern Emirates have joined some of the other associations like Karnataka Sangha Sharjah, Mogaveers UAE, Amchigele Samaj UAE, Ramarajya Khsatriya Sangha UAE, Padmashali UAE, Kodagu Dakshina Kannada Gowda Sangha Dubai and  UAE Bunts who have so far recorded their names in the list of blood donors of India in the UAE.

Every three seconds somebody needs blood in UAE and it is said that one of every four patients entering a hospital needs blood.

The need of blood arises in treating Aneamic patients and patients undergoing surgery. A road accident victim with  massive blood loss can need transfusions of 50 units or more of red blood cells. Just one pint of donated blood can help save 3-5 lives. It takes about 7-10 minutes to donate a pint of blood and 24 hours for your body to replace the blood fluid volume.
