The incident occurred at B C Road bus stand when the girl, a resident of Agrar, Bantwal, was getting on the bus to go to college. The man, who was behind the girl as she boarded the bus, sexually harassed her. When questioned, the man threatened to continue harassing her in the future. When a person comes from a broken family, where the Father of the family disrespects his wife and treats her as a slave, kids watch them!!! Hence daughter of that family becomes the Feminist & some of the Son of such family becomes sexual predators & follow the path of their Father!!!

Mr. Joseph in response to your comments, comparing the BEST Public Transport and the private public transport system in Mangalore and Udupi Districts, is like comparing Apples to Sapotas! You should understand, in Karnataka the authorities who represent the people and the authorities who are supposed to upkeep the State, are only engaged in this Hindu and that Hindu and hate in everything inbetween. The CM, Mr. Siddhu does not travel by a public bus nor does the Minister of Transport, to update and improvise public transportation with good and comfortable facilities and infrastructure for the public. No one really cares, and it will never change. In my opinion, in Karnataka, the people only can bring over a change if they want to see a change for their betterment without all their leaders or the authorities.

My candid views … to a certain extent in toto I agree with you Mr. Thomas, but not entirely convinced. Believe me, transport in Karnataka is haywire. KSRTC buses are always irregular (if quizzed, KSRTC has a ready made answer for this). Crowds spillover and there's a honky-dorry situation where one can imagine the end result. The “sleepy” locales there do not seem to have the zeal in themselves to retaliate with the authorities and bring things in order. Chaltha hai chalatha hai policy. The onus for "make" or "break" squarely lies within the jurisdiction of the youth to be as a unit, pull the authorities by the scruff of their collars and DEMAND their needs be expedited. If this shit has been persisting for donkeys years, I wonder why the youth never got into the groove. Its sheer common sense. If successful, the battle is half won. Where there's a will there's a way. Here lies the major fault. Why service buses (unlike KSRTC) don’t issue monthy, quarterly or yearly passes to commuters? This is a major reason for students ignoring service buses. A majority of the students travel to reuted institutions like St. Aloysius through Bunts Hostel, PVS Circle etc. It is cumbersome for students to detour (ex-Jyothi theatre) take another transport which is illogical and costly affair. Why KSRTC buses are permitted to go towards Mangalore Bus Stand and NOT service buses. Have you'll thought about this? There should be a feasibility. A good reason why I've seen a large section of the students IGNORING empty service buses and preferring to wait endlessly for KSRTC buses to save a few pennies. That’s logical. This is the very reason why this above episode happened. Unless something changes, there is no hope and sleepy Karnataka will always remain a “sleepy coastal” unless the fire burns within the younger generation resorting for a forcible change.

In the main B. C Road bus stop opposite Pinto Park Hotel I have seen such a dastardly disorder when college girls and boys scamper to board KSRTC buses coming from far off places like Dharmasthala, Kabakka Puttur, Uppinangady etc. often leading to stampede, injury, pick pocket etc. Worse, there's not a single bus (shelter) stop both for KSRTC and private services unlike the professional system here in Bombay managed by BEST. Why can't the authorities implement the Bombay system there? Furthermore, both the authorities should appoint a nominated person to ensure that passengers stand in queue and board the bus to instill a sense of decorum.

What's that so-called pullimunchi vadapav got to do with my comment Sahil? 🤔🤔🤔 You can certainly open up a stall there and such crowds can patronise your outlet. 🤣 Jokes apart ... if not sorted out soon, this could lead to serious repercussion.

There isn't a need. There's a huge difference between local trains and buses. Unlike local trains which have several wide doors for entrance, a bus has one rear entrance, some models have two. Depends. Both are poles apart.
