Udupi: Android workshop organized on campus by SMVITM

Udupi, Oct 5: The Department of Computer Science and Engineering in collaboration with Co-curricular Committee of CSE department, SMVITM under Unnat Bharat Abhiyan organized the workshop on Android development for BCA students of St. Mary’s College, Shirva. This session was conducted on October 4 and 5, 2023.

The inaugural ceremony of this event was held on October 4 in Seminar Hall Admin Block of SMVITM. On the occasion of inaugural ceremony, principal of St Mary’s College, Shirva, Dr Herald Ivan Monis was invited as chief guest of the function and head of the department of Computer Science in St Marys College. Shirva K Praveen Kumar was invited as the guest of honour. This ceremony was presided over by Dr Thirumaleshwara Bhat, principal, SMVITM. head of the department of Computer Science and Engineering, SMVITM Soumya J Bhat welcomed the guests. The workshop was inaugurated by lighting the lamp by dignitaries. Chief guest Dr Herald Ivan Monis addressed his students and highlighted the importance of value-added courses and importance of good projects for placement.

President of the ceremony, Dr Thirumaleshwara Bhat gave a presidential note and guided the students to take up projects and courses in latest technologies that will help them in future endeavors. Preethi M, assistant professor, Department of Computer Science and Engineering was the master of the ceremony for the event. Preethi M also proposed a vote of thanks to all the gathered members.

Resource persons for this workshop were Savitha Shenoy, assistant professor, Department of CSE and Sahana Karanth, assistant professor, Department of CSE of SMVITM. Chaitra Bhat from Computer Science department, SMVITM coordinated this session.
