Bengaluru, Oct 6: Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar on Friday accused the opposition BJP of tearing and cutting society while the ruling Congress party is doing the work of stitching and joining.

Speaking to media persons near his residence in Bengaluru, he took the analogy of iron that can be used make sickles or scissors and also needles and charged the BJP of doing the act of cutting or tearing while his party is stitching and joining society. This is the difference between BJP and Congress, he said.

Responding to BJP’s charge that the Congress government has created an atmosphere of fear by targeting Hindus in Shivamogga, he said the BJP’s ideology and past actions are known to the people and also how it was responsible for communal clashes in the past.

Shivakumar said BJP’s charge on the government creating a fear psychosis is nothing but devil quoting the scripture.

During the Congress rule under S M Krishna, the government declared poet laureate Kuvempu’s ``Jaya Bharatha Jananiya Tanujate’’ as the State anthem and asserted that the government wants to create the garden of peace for all sections (Sarva Janangada Shanthiya Thota).

The Deputy Chief Minister said the district in charge minister B Ramalinga Reddy has met leaders of both Hindu and Muslim communities and patiently heard their grievances in Shivamogga. This cannot be said of BJP, which differentiated between Hindus and Muslim and pandered only to the majorty community.
Transport Minister Reddy has condemned violence and has promised to take stern action against the guilty.

``There is no question of protecting anybody or any community. We will take action against those who violated the law and order situation creating disturbances,’’ he said pointing out that the BJP leaders have visited only the leaders of Hindu community unlike Congress which met leaders of both communities.

He endorsed the statement of Reddy that ``Congress leaders are real Hindus unlike BJP, who are fake Hindus’’ as Hindus are tolerant people.
