Udupi: MAHE brings out a book on Adolescent Health

Udupi, Oct 6: Manipal Universal Press (MUP), a unit of Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE) has brought out a book titled Adolescent Health: Healthy Present for Healthy Future authored by Prateek Srivastava, Dr Vaishali K, Dr H Vinod Bhat, and Dr Suzanne Broadbent.

Dr Sharath K Rao, pro vice chancellor, MAHE, Manipal released the book published by Manipal Universal Press (MUP) on October 6 at Smart Classroom, MCHP, MAHE, Manipal.

Speaking on the occasion, the guest speaker Dr H Vinod Bhat, vice chancellor, Apollo University, Chittoor,and co-author of the book illustrated how the book is a result of a long journey towards health literacy, and making health research available and accessible to the common people.

The authors Prateek Srivastava and Dr Vaishali K spoke about the book, including its conception and relevance to young individuals. They spoke about the research the book is based on, focusing on the overall well-being of adolescents as well as their mental and sexual health, providing a roadmap for caregivers, educators, and adolescents.

Welcoming the guests, Dr G Arun Maiya, dean, MCHP, MAHE, Manipal said, “This book is a timely and informative book for the public and the caregivers. The language is clear and simple, focusing on lifestyle management and adolescent health.”
At the end, Prof Neeta Inamdar, Chief Editor, Manipal Universal Press, MAHE, Manipal proposed a vote of thanks.The master of ceremony was Nivedita Kamath.
