Sullia, Oct 7: Trekking will be allowed from October 7 on Kumaraparvatha mountain range lying behind Kukke Sri Subramanya temple. Forest department officials informed media that the trekking was opened as the rain is reduced.

Trekking on the mountain and forest was prohibited from October 3 due to heavy rains. Earlier from May to September 29 trekking was stopped due to soaring mercury and rains. It was opened on September 30.

Forest department has made elaborate arrangements to maintain cleanliness on the way as well as on the mountain. Sign boards are placed at various strategic points of Kumaraparvata, Girigadde and Kallachappara. Carrying plastic bottles, covers and things is prohibited to the hill.
