Squares, circles, triangles, rectangles in action by LKG children of Mount Carmel Central School

Media Release

Mangaluru, Oct 7: The LKG children of Mount Carmel Central School had a week long hands on experience on the shapes, which sets a basic foundation for their day-today life. The shapes like square, circle, triangle and rectangle were modeled using the activity based learning.

The square shaped paper folding boats were made which improved their fine motor skills. Also, this activity was much enjoyed by floating these boats in the puddles.

To understand the circle, it was practiced by rolling chapathis. The children enjoyed holding the rolling pin to roll on the board.

The triangle and rectangle were practiced by using straws. Another activity of pasting the shapes in their drawing book was fun. Making models like house, rocket and an engine drilled the concept of shapes in their little minds. It was followed by pick and speak exercise.

The most enjoyed activity was 'Shape Games' which were conducted on the open grounds. During the snack break, the little ones enjoyed the snacks in various shapes which they brought from home. Finally, the children loved sharing their joy of learning different shapes with their parents, with a take away prepared by their teachers.
