Udupi, Oct 7: Four youths under the influence of ganja assaulted an auto-rickshaw driver here late in the evening on Saturday October 7.
The incident took place near City Center Mall here.
Four youth’s under the influence of intoxicants were trying to assault a senior citizen. When the act was noticed by the auto drivers of the area, they tried to stop the youths and protect the senior citizen from the assault.
An auto-rickshaw driver was chased and assaulted by ganja-intoxicated youths over the issue.
An argument ensued between the intoxicated youth and the auto driver which was followed by an assault.
Udupi city police detained the four youths for rioting.
