Mangaluru, Oct 9: In collaboration with Leo Club, Anti-Drug Awareness Programme was held on October 7 at St Aloysius ITI.
The chief guest and resource person for the programme was Lydia Lobo, administrator LINK Integrated Rehabilitation Centre for Addicts, Bajal, Mangalore. Fr John Dsouza SJ - director St Aloysius ITI, Roshan D'Souza - principal, Noel Lobo - training officer, and Alwyn Menezes - vice principal were present.
The programme commenced with a prayer. Wilson N, JTO welcomed the resource person to the gathering. The programme was inaugurated by lighting the lamp by the dignitaries.
The resource person spoke about why awareness must be created in youth about drug addiction. She also said about what are the reasons for getting addicted to drugs, different stages of drug addicts and how they behave, how to lead a
healthy life, impacts on what happens if one consumes drugs, she gave some case studies on drug addicts and how the youth are trapped to drugs.
Prior to the programme, a drawing competition was organised on the topic 'Anti-Drug Awareness'.
