New Delhi, Aug 22: With activist Anna Hazare showing no sign of ending his hunger strike against the government for a stronger Lokpal Bill, it is learnt that the government will now bring in spiritual guru Bhayyu Maharaj and bureaucrat U C Sarangi to hold talks with Team Anna.
However, there seems to be no compromise on the government’s part as Hazare enters seventh day of fast on Monday August 22.
Guru Maharaj said, “Both sides want a solution. But there needs to be start, which is unfortunately getting delayed. I want both the government and Team Anna to come together for a strong Lokpal bill. Open debate should take place on contentious issue and talks should be transparent and in public domain. Anna's arrest was a mistake.”
It is also learnt from sources that the government has asked for four months' time to carry discussions related to the Bill, but Team Anna has refused the offer.
On Sunday August 21, Anna Hazare warned the government saying, “If Jan Lokpal Bill is not passed by August 30, we will go on a bigger protest which everyone will remember."
Addressing his supporters at Ramlila Maidan, Anna said, "The government has betrayed me at every step. Now, they have only two options - either pass the Jan Lokpal Bill or go.”
He added, "The government is not serious about fighting corruption. I warned them of protests, but they did not listen to me. That is why I have taken up this protest and will continue till the Jan Lokpal Bill is not passed," Anna said.
Anna's aide, Arvind Kejriwal also said that the government has looted the tax payer's money and they should be answerable for this.
