Udupi: DVS Feted by Manipal Group, Citizens of Kaup

Udupi, Aug 22: In two separate functions organized at Manipal and Kaup in the district respectively on Sunday August 21, Chief Minister (CM) of Karnataka, D V Sadananda Gowda (DVS) was felicitated on behalf of the Manipal Group of Concerns, and citizens of Kaup. While the felicitation at Manipal was held at Hotel Valley View International, the one at Kaup was in the form of a public function.

At both the functions, DVS promised to provide transparent and efficient governance devoid of corruption and red tape. “I have taken the reins of the state at a time when the going is tough and the situation is complex. At the moment, ethics are at low ebb among the political outfits. My primary aim will be to do away with ugly politics and provide a clean administration driven by a zeal to put the state on tracks of good and sound governance,” he stated.

While spelling out his priorities as leading the state towards becoming No.1 in the country through transparent administration, DVS wanted people and the party activists to identify him as a person who is off limits for nepotism and corruption.

He promised the people of Kaup that the memorandum handed over to him on their behalf by MLA, Lalaji Mendon, will be studied and everything possible will be done to meet the demands contained therein. Speaking at Manipal, DVS acknowledged that he deems Urimajalu Ram Bhat, with whom he has ideological differences now, Karamballi Sanjeeva Shetty, and V S Acharya, as his mentors and Gurus.

The function at Kaup was presided over by MLA, Lalaji R Mendon. Legislators, Raghupati Bhat and Srinivas Poojary, former MLAs, Sunil Kumar and Rukmaya Poojary, zilla panchayat president, Katapadi Shankar Poojary, taluk panchayat president, Devadas Hebbar, and various other leaders were present.

On behalf of Manipal Group, Manipal Media Network Ltd managing director, T Satish U Pai, felicitated DVS. Minister, Dr V S Acharya, Manipal University chancellor, Dr K Ramanarayan, Vinod Bhat, Dr G K Prabhu, Dr Parvati Bhat and others were present.
