Udupi, Oct 11: A 'Capacity Development' training workshop on cyber safety and security was organized for teachers on October 10. A M Girish Kumar, principal of Podar International School, Mangaluru and Praveena Shetty, principal of Raj Academy High School, Ganjimath were present as the main resource persons.

They enlightened the faculty on topics like Cyber Security, Bank Fraud, Cyber Crime, Computer Forensics, Cyber Awareness, Cyber Law and Act.

George Kurian, principal, said, “Today we are not only citizens of one country but also members of the cyber world so we should be aware of its advantages and disadvantages.”

Prakashchandra Shetty, the president of the school management board, said, “We are living in the age of internet and it is essential to know the pros and cons of social media and the students should be made aware of it.”

The teaching staff of the institute were present in the workshop and got hands-on experience through various activities.
