Bengaluru, Oct 13: JD(S) leader H D Kumaraswamy has demanded to know the identity of the persons to whom the Rs 42 crore belonged, which was seized by IT officials in the residence of contractors in Bengaluru soon after the release of Rs 650 crore by BBMP.
The JD(S) leader has alleged that IT officials have seized Rs 42 crore stacked in 23 boxes and hidden beneath the beds of the contractor, who was subjected to IT raids, and charged that the money was meant to be sent to Telangana to fund the election expenses.
The former chief minister has urged Chief Minister Siddaramaiah as to whether he will order a probe into the identity of the persons to whom the Rs 42 crore was seized by IT officials, he said alleging that the announcement of assembly polls in the five states, including Telangana, has now resulted in flow of money.
The JD(S) leader alleged that the announcement of assembly elections has resulted in flow of money from Karnataka to fund the Congress election campaign. "This is the sad part of Karnataka whenever the Congress party comes to power,’’ he said.
