Mangaluru, Oct 13: The Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC), known for introducing several luxury bus services, is now set to expand its fleet with the addition of a new luxury sleeper coach named 'Pallakki.'

Dakshina Kannada district already enjoys the convenience of Rajahamsa, Airavat, and Ambari luxury sleeper coaches, and now the Pallakki bus will be introduced in Mangaluru.

Currently, there are 12 KSRTC buses in operation, with plans to add 40 Pallakki buses to the lineup. Out of these, eight buses will serve Mangaluru, while four will be assigned to the Puttur division.

Various routes, including those to Bengaluru, will feature Pallakki buses. Additionally, nine new KSRTC buses are expected to be deployed in the Puttur zone, with two buses allocated to each of the B C Road, Dharmastala, and Madikeri depots, and one to Sullia.

All thanks to the BJP government who brought a change in KSRTC, introducing VOLVO buses, Raja Hamsas and Airavaths. Even Pallakki is BJP's gift!

Pease don't say such stupid things like "Gift"! If you want to praise BJP or Congress Or any party please do it but don't say "gift". You can say "work" done by BJP or whatever. How is it a "gift"? These people(Politicians) are buying the buses with tax payers money, They are not paying from their own poket. And that also these busses are highly profitable. Let me give you a simple calculation my friend, - these sleeper busses can seat 30 people but lets just consider on average it is half full, and it runs 6 days a week. If the cost for one sleeper ticket is 800 then the bus will do two trips per day(To and fro) 30 passengers a day, in one year that bus will have transported 10,050 passengers and earned a revenue of 80 Lakhs. If you minus 30 Lakhs as maintenance and driver and staff salary you will get 50 Lakhs Profit. If the cost of these bus is 1.5 Crore. Then in 3 years the have recovered the money. Everything after that is profit. And I am seeing these same Iravat busses since past 10 years, the red busses are the same since my birth. I AM 27 YEARS OLD NOW! Do you have a better understanding of how this works now? The sad reality is if they(Politicians) really care about people then they can do wonders for us. This bus thing is the bare minimum whichwas suposed to be done 10 years ago. The same aplies to every aspect of Indian Administration. The Politicians no matter it is BJP, Congress JDS or whatever they are working hand in hand to divide us in the name of religion caste and language so that we keep fighing amongs ourselves amd no one questions them. Their goal is simple to keep the hardworking lower and midle class people like you and mepoor and stupid, while they continue to increase their wealth exponentially.

KSRTC Mangalore division s staffs are the best. They drive very carefullyby keeping the convenience of passengers in mind. They don't drive rashly and fast unlike most of the private operators and still reach on time to the destination

There is nothing luxurious about these busses, if they really care about the people then they should improve roads and trains, It's just that they are a better than the red busses. Only luxurious busses are the multi axel busses like dream class and ambari etc, but those are few in number. And unfortunately no Vande bharath trains between Mangalore and Bangalore either. These people(politicians) are literally pissing on us without even the courtesey to call it rain.
