Kasargod: Son kills mother over trivial issue; arrested, admitted to mental hospital

Kasargod, Oct 14: In a shocking incident that unfolded in Neeleshwar, a son killed his mother by striking her with a wooden plank.

The deceased is Rukmini (63), a resident of Neeleshwara Kanicchera. The suspect, her son Sujit (34), has been apprehended by the police.

This unfortunate incident occurred on Thursday morning when a dispute over the use of a mobile phone escalated to the fatal assault on the mother. Sujit struck his mother, Rukmini, causing severe head injuries. She was rushed to Kannur hospital but tragically passed away on Saturday.

The authorities conducted a medical examination on the accused at the district hospital, where doctors diagnosed him with a mental illness. As a result, he has been admitted to a mental health facility at Kudiravetta for treatment.

    AH,all of a sudden he is become mentally ill?Never before he was ill ?Even then he should be arrested and produced in court.No excuse when one kills or even raise hand over mother or father.He should be punished.Tricks of lawyer?May her soul rest in peace.
