New Delhi, Aug 24: Arguing that Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh and former finance minister P Chidambaram were in the loop during the 2G scam, Kanimozhi Karunanidhi threatened to make PM a witness on Tuesday August 23 in case the trail against her continued.
Earlier, former telecom minister A Raja too alleged that PM and Chidambaram were aware of the 2G transactions.
Terming the charges against her as 'frivolous and malicious', the 43-year old Rajya Sabha MP at the special court trail in Delhi pointed out at Chidambaram and telecom minister Kapil Sibal that they could easily become witnesses since all have said there was no loss to the exchequer.
Her legal counsel Sushil Kumar told the Special judge O P Saini, "I am showing you (judge) the minutes of the meeting in which the Prime Minister, the then finance minister and the telecom minister (A Raja) decided that the licences for the 2G spectrum were not to be sold/auctioned. Three witnesses (PM, FM and Sibal) are 'good enough' to prove that there was no loss. They are on record in Parliament that the government did not incur any loss.”
