Mangaluru: Food dept officials raid shop running business without trade license

Daijiworld Media Network – Mangaluru (EP)

Mangaluru, Oct 17: Food department sleuths have raided a food outlet running business at Falnir without a trade license. The owners of the outlet have expressed anguish at the attitude of the officials who had to return after inspecting the hygiene maintained at the outlet.

The incident happened at the MFC outlet here. Officials who raided on the basis of complaints received from the building owners wanted to lock the outlet. However after heated arguments between the officials, the outlet owners and the lawyer on the spot, the health officials allegedly said that they had come to inspect the sanitary conditions and threatened to take legal action if they are not allowed to inspect the place.

They inspected the place and asked the outlet owners to produce suitable documents within the next 24 hours to prevent action.

N M A Siddique, the leader of the outlet owners alleged that the officials arrived in the company of welders and hired goondas. “Our shop has not violated any rules. The application for a trade licence submitted by us to the department is neither rejected nor accepted. We have been conducting business here since the year 2017. The officials have raided our premises after receiving bribes,” he said.

The health department officials in the Mangaluru City Corporation need to look into such allegations and obtain legal advice, he added.

It is operating without trade license, what is the point of checking hygiene; according to the officials, it should not have been functioning in the first place. They should have initiated action to close the outlet and seal it until license application is approved or rejected. Simple and straight. Action must be also taken against owner of the property because he has benefited from an illegal business entity. Why did he sublet it without checking?

Some officials in Municipality thinks and behaves like, they are not public service, instead behaves like a tough judge WITHOUT SMILE, public are not servents, they have to treat the public just like service with smile or atleast with politeness. Few RI thinks they are Chief Minister of Municipality. Very movement they talk with their colleagues with smile and cordiality, very next movement they treat the public like enemy forget smile instead with anger for NO REASON. (is money play significant role for smile or cordiality) Mangalore Municipality Staff, most of them have to change their attitude. Delay of service is definetly. But surely is the routine in Mangalore Municipality, example, issuance of new or EVEN renewal of Trade License. D. C. and Mayor have to deal the matter in this regard.

It is better to issue 'Violation Warning Letter' to fix the issue with sufficient time frame rather than listening to one side. Afterall most(Not All) Govt employees do illegal things one way or other. Eg: >Customs accepting bribe OR v asking to baggage handler rip off baggage & steal the items under Govt Bldg. & Under Govt surveillance camera.-All NRE's seen & witnessed. >Railway TC making huge amount every single hour that all we know-All we know. > Smart Buziness Tycoons runway with poor people money & no action -All we know. In Reality No one Saint or Sadhu. Hope it make real sense.
