UP man serving life term, gets another life sentence


Muzaffarnagar, Oct 19 (IANS): In what probably is one of a kind case, a man already serving life imprisonment has been given another life sentence for attacking two murder accused with a sharp object outside a court’s premises in Muzaffarnagar in 2011.

ADGC Parvinder Singh said: “Jamil and his son Sarfaraz, accused in a murder case in 2010, were brought to the court for a hearing on June 1, 2011. As their vehicle was being parked near the court lock-up, Shahnawaz attacked them with a sharp object.

"Shahnawaz is in Saharanpur's jail serving life imprisonment in a murder case. Now, the court again rewarded him with a life term.”

The hearing of this case was held in the ADSJ Shakti Singh’s court.

"It is the first time in Muzaffarnagar’s history that someone was served two life terms under 307 (Attempt to murder) case,” Singh added.
