Mangaluru, Oct 19: Srinivas Institute of Dental Sciences organised an orientation programme for 1st BDS (Batch 2023-24) Aarambh on October 18 at Srinivas University Mukka campus.
Chief guest of the programme, pro-chancellor of Srinivas University Dr A Srinivas Rao said, “Srinivas University always gave preference to give skill-based education with academics. With the advancement of opportunity, students have to expand research and bring out something new so it can bring more smiles to people's faces.”
Srinivas University chancellor Dr CA A Raghavendra Rao in his presidential address said, “We should learn to love our profession and we all have to remember to become good human beings. Always think about your profession and through that, we should benefit society and for that hard work is needed from the beginning of student life. Nothing is impossible. Students have to put in hard work to make everything possible, so it will increase your value too. A smile is important to keep you and others happy.”

Srinivas University board of governors’ trustee member Prof Mitra S Rao said, “A dentist is like a soldier, the patient has to get into the comfort zone with the doctor then only treatment is possible, as all say mission success. A small negligence towards teeth will affect the whole body in future. Smile is a reflection of the heart. Every human can smile confidently because of the dentist's effort and skill.”
Srinivas University board of governors’ trustee member Padmini Kumar said, “Students have to like their profession and with time it will convert to love for what they are doing. Never give up in life, and to be focused on your work you have to be disciplined then only you can reach your goal.”
Srinivas University registrar Dr Anil Kumar, Srinivas Institute of Medical Science and Research Centre dean Dr Uday Kumar Rao were present.
