Both Siddaramaiah and Shivakumar, warmly welcomed the BJP leaders and their supporters into the Congress fold, and assured that they will ensure that political injustice will not be done to the newcomers.

The BJP leaders Poornima, Srinivas and Narasimha Nayak have been strong votaries of the upliftment of the backward classes and fought for social justice and the Congress party which is wedded to upholding constitution and social justice will ensure that they will get justice in the party, the Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister assured.

KPCC Chief Shivakumar, former Chief Minister M Veerappa Moily, minister D Sudhakar and the State Government’s representative in Delhi T B Jayachandra and other leaders welcomed the newcomers into the party.

DKS claims Cong will be strengthened

Shivakumar said he along with Moily had worked with senior Congress leader Krishnappa in Bengaluru rural and urban districts in the past and due to various issues the leader had distanced himself from the party. Late Krishnappa’s daughter Poornima had joined BJP and became an MLA and now she has returned to Congress fulfilling her late father’s desires.

Along with :Poornima, her husband Srinivas as well as former corporator Narasimha Nayak have joined the Congress and they will contribute to strengthening the organisation, the KPCC Chief said pointing out that all party leaders have been taken into confidence over their joining.

The Deputy Chief Minister said more and more leaders from BJP and JD(S) are joining the Congress disillusionment with the unholy alliance between the two diametrically opposite parties.
