Mangaluru: Illegal sand mining - Police seize tipper truck in raid

Mangaluru, Oct 21: The rural police conducted a raid at Idma, Ulaibettu village on Thursday night, where illegal sand mining was reportedly taking place in the Phalguni River. During the operation, the police confiscated a tipper truck that was loaded with sand.

The raid was carried out based on specific information received by the police.

However, two individuals present at the site managed to escape before the authorities arrived. As a result, the sand-laden tipper truck is currently in police custody.
