Moodbidri: Excursion conducted for students of Carmel School

Moodbidri, Oct 23: A field trip was organized for the students of grade 7 and 8 of Carmel School Moodbidri to Manipal on October 9. The students were taken to Dr T M A Pai Planetarium, Manipal, where they enjoyed the picturesque part of the show. The students observed the different types, of specimens at Manipal Museum of Anatomy and Pathology. Later, the students were taken to Koti Chennaya Theme Park at Karkala. This provided students with the details on the legendary brothers ‘Koti Chennaya’ known for their bravery. The field trip helped the students to enjoy, relax and to gain knowledge.


Students of grade 9 and 10 were taken to Pilikula Regional Science Centre and Planetarium for the field trip on October 7. The students also experienced with enriched learning in science from the various models and fun activities, spread over the three galleries of the museum.


The students were explained about Gregor Mendel's F1 F2 Progeny Experiment and August Weismann’s biodiversity charts. At the same time, they had fun learning various principles related to sound, optical illusions, work and energy and diversity in living organisms. The students got to experience 3D movie in the planetarium. They also visited the lake garden, heritage village and biological park.


This field trip has given the useful information that helped them in knowing many vital information that they experienced. Also, the students enjoyed and participated in the trip with full zeal. Students were also provided lunch and refreshments.
