Manish Tiwari Can't Escape with Apology, to Face Defamation Case by Anna

New Delhi, Aug 24: Controversial congress spokesperson and Member of Parliament from Punjab Manish Tiwari is in trouble for making 'corruption' charges against social activist and civil society lead member Anna Hazare.

Though Tiwari apologised to Anna Hazare for saying that the latter too was not free of corruption, on the basis of Sawant Commission report, Hazare's advocate M Pawar said that Tiwari will not be spared despite the apology and that next week he would be filing a defamation case against him for making derogatory remarks against Hazare.

Earlier in the day, Tiwari had stated, "I know some of my recent utterances have hurt Hazare. I regret the same and I would like to appeal to him as a citizen of this country to end his fast." He admitted that in the course of political thrust certain things are inadvertently said which cause pain.

Tiwari had accused that Team Anna comprised armchair fascists, overground Maoists, and closet anarchists funded by invisible donors.
 
Anna Hazare's advocate Pawar said that a case against Tiwari will be filed according to IPC Section 500 for the defamatory remarks made by him against Hazare on August 14, describing him as a corrupt person at a public forum.

Tiwari, further to tendering apology has urged Anna Hazare to withdraw his 10-day fast.

    It think it is best if the media did highlight and put forward the conclusions of the P.B. Sawant committee.
    Though the committee doesn't brand Annaji as corrupt it does state that there were instances of corruption and maladministration in the trusts that Annaji was heading or associated with.

    Let us see if this Anna-baba really goes to court. He and his stooges have very cleverly avoided going to court on any issue, whether it be his arrest or anything else. They know that they have no ground to stand in the court of law so they are sticking to the game plan of blackmailing.
    If AH goes to court Mansih Tiwari can get enough ammunition from this article in the link below in defending his allegations. If this not corrupt behavior then what is?

    Yes the demfation suit should be filed aganst Tiwari who has tried to malign a humble person like Shrei Anna Hazare. It tool 10 days for him to come out in the open to give an appology that too only because of the support Anna has got from the fight against corruption. If it was not for this event he would have never appoligised to Shri Anna Hazere. Mid-term elections next time, he should be given a befitting answer by the people.

    A great deal of arrogance creeps in as soon as one acquires power. The same man was seen uttering words like- Tadbeer se bigadi hui taqdeer bana le, apne pe bharosa hai to dav laga le, 2014 main lad le chunav Chandani chowk se (ridiculing Anna that neither he has courage to fight election nor he can win it). Similar comments were expressed by one Mahesh Joshi of Jaipur. He said that he challanges Anna to fight election against him. The point is- the votes polled to these politicians is not their inherited property. These are cast by citizens. They think that these votes are their parental property and show hauty behaviour on the basis of these votes. I wish they had some sense. We certainly deserve some one better than these arrogant 'leaders'.

    Its a shame that people at esteemed position come-out with such baseless remarks and later forced to take it back.

    It strongly suggests that Tiwari had not idea who and what he was referring to. To me it seems spokesperson of any party in the country have been un-intelligent with their remarks contradictory to their job profile. At least they should know, how to do there job. For like him, Our country should not waste time, and rather focus on the positive energy where we can place right people and ensure that, this doesn't happen again. Case against him will be a waste of energy and will not bring any positive results, they are shameless. I am not sure, how they are able to go back to their home and society and face their children and family network. Its beyond my imagination.

    it is very sad state that this spokes person in order to defend the ruling congress party and to snub the lokpal bill he tried to defame him by telling that he is corrupt- which is absolute no no .. i dont think tiwari has ever worked for any social cause without being in political power....it very easy to pass derogatory remarks in democracy .. bUt him as elelcted member of parlia..HAS MORE PREVILAGE TO UTTER THAT WAY... again takING people for granted - AUTOCRATIC Behaviour -not every thing the electEd members say is universal truth ...once they defy the truth they dont deserve to be in power to represent - i support that defamation suit is mandatory having taken annaji for GRANTED..PLS FILE A CASE OF DEFAMATION SUITE ,,ASAP !LET JUDGE ALSO PRANOUNCE HIM ON WHAT IS THE TRUTH..     Anna should take stern action against him as he has tried to defame a real national non-corrupt hero. He should be put behind bars. Shame on you Congress Party. Till now my whole family was supporting Congress since years and my father,my Uncle were the workers of congress party. I feel ashamed to say that I support Congress. I hate Congress party now.

    for the following reasons
    -he made extremely serious allegations
    -At the post that he holds you just cannot make irresponsible statements

    It was a shocking and an immature statement to have come from a young Indian Parliamentarian. It smacks of dirty poitics and towing immoral lines for personal aggrandisement and party positions. In a democratic India, he must be called upon to pay for such blunders under the existing rules. More so because he is an MP who is expected to behave truthfully in people's interests. It is not clear whose line has he followed, and at whose behest he made such defamatory statements? Tiwary is symbolical of the decay among our politicians who want to 'cling to power' at all costs. and claim to lead this Country of 1.2 billion people. The trouble is that he and many of his ilk will still get away after making such derogatory and disparaging remarks against a person who is standing upright for the national values which these politicians have long burried for personal gains!
