ICYM Pangla unit to host 18th Udupi diocese level Konkani singing contest on Oct 29

Udupi, Oct 27: In the harmonious world of music, a stage is set to discover the hidden talents and passionate voices of Udupi diocese that will leave an indelible mark on the hearts of music enthusiasts.

With an aim to providing a platform for budding singers in Udupi, ICYM Unit of St John Evangelist Church, Pangla is organising the Udupi diocesan level inter-parish Konkani singing competition for the 18th year.

The competitions will be held on Sunday, October 29 at the church hall from 9 am onwards.

ICYM unit of St John Evangelist Church, Pangla has been successfully organising the diocese level singing competition for 17 years. It has been one of the signature events of the ICYM Pangla unit.

The competition will be held in 10 various categories for boys, girls, men and women and a duet category.  A large number of participants are expected to participate in the competition.

Children are allocated two age categories, under 10, and between ages 11 and 15. Each category comprises girls' solo singing, boys' solo singing, and group singing.

Adults may contest in male solo singing, female solo singing, mixed duet and group singing competitions. Entry is free.

Prizes

The Top three teams with the highest number of prizes will get cash awards. A cash prize of Rs 6,666 will be given to the winning team, Rs 5,555 to the first runner-up, and Rs 4,444 to the second runner-up. Shields will also be presented.
