Auto driver’s son fights all odds, becomes India’s youngest IAS officer

Daijiworld Media Network – Maharashtra (MS)

Maharashtra, Oct 31: Yonus Sheikh Ahmad runs an auto-rickshaw for a living in Marathwada of Maharashtra. Married to three women, Yonus is also an alcohol addict. However, Ansar Sheikh, Yonus’s son from second wife turned out to be the youngest IAS officer of Indian in spite of all odds.

Life for Ansar was tough in childhood as it was marred by domestic abuse by his father due to this alcohol addiction. His sisters were married off by his father at a young age of 15. Anees, the younger brother of Ansar had to give up schooling in seventh standard in order to support the family and also help Ansar to realize his dream of becoming an IAS officer.

Ansar cleared the toughest UPSC exam in the first attempt in 2016 at the age of 21 and created history of being the youngest IAS officer of India. Ansar’s achievement is commendable given the fact that his family was not interested in education and his childhood was marred by domestic violence.

A grateful Ansar says that his friends were his strength as they helped him financially and psychologically to win the battle of clearing the IAS. Even the academy that coached Ansar for IAS waived part of the fee considering the fact that he came from very poor financial background.

In one of his message to IAS aspirants Ansar Sheikh said that one should think that the competition is only with self and not with lacs of other IAS aspirants.
