Mangaluru: Lourdes Central School celebrates ‘Rashtriya Ekta Diwas’

Mangaluru, Oct 31: Lourdes Central School celebrated Rashtriya Ekta Diwas to commemorate the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel on October 31. The assembly commenced with the prayer song and intentions where the students interceded for the unity, integrity and security of the nation.

A thought ‘How good and pleasant it is when brothers live together in unity’ was presented by Rania of class 6C. Parth Shetty of class 7D explained the significance of the day. The ‘Ekta song’ was performed by the school choir as a tribute to the Iron Man. Cheryl of class 8B spoke about the contributions of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.

The Rashtriya Ekta Diwas Pledge was administered by Prachi of class 10B. The principal Fr Robert D’Souza shared a quote on unity, “There is beauty and power in unity”. He said that India is a land of unity and diversity, so we need to stand united always. The Preamble of India and LCS pledge were recited. The principal flagged off the Run for Unity in which the scouts and guides along with scout master and guide captain participated. The programme was compered by Shanel and Alden of class 9D.
