Mangaluru: Sports Day Valedictory function at Expert PU College, Valachil

Mangaluru, Oct 23: A sparkling Sports Day valedictory function culminated in the presence of the chief guest Shashank J Rai, an international basketball player and deputy range forest officer, Karnataka, at the Time Square Ground, Expert PU College, Valachil on Monday, October 30.

Addressing the gathering, Shashank J Rai said, "Sports Day is a very exciting and happy day that every student looks forward to. Every student can participate in different types of sporting events. Personally, I enjoy sports day and look forward to it every year. It helps me showcase my athletic abilities in front of an enthusiastic audience".

The students belonging to four houses Curie, Darwin, Einstein and Ramanujan participated in various sports events. The prizes were given away to the winners and the house Curie bagged the Overall Championship.

Architect Deepika A Nayak welcomed the chief guest with a bouquet. Ankush N Nayak, director, Information Technology, honoured the chief guest with a citation and a memento.

Dr N K Vijayan Karippal, principal, Expert PU College, Valachil, Raghavendra Shenoy, vice-principal (admin), Subramanya Udupa, vice-principal (academics), Balakrishna Shetty, Core Committee member and other faculty members were present on the occasion.

Anusha I Hiremat, joint general secretary, Student Parliament welcomed the dignitaries. Nitin Manohar, programme director, proposed a vote of thanks.

Nishatt Fathima from Department of Chemistry introduced the guest and compered the programme.
