Udupi, Nov 2: The Adani Owned Adani Power Limited – Udupi TPP, which is operating thermal power plant in Yellur village, Kaup Taluk, in collaboration with its CSR wing Adani Foundation, on November 2, unveiled two newly constructed concrete roads under its CSR in the limits of Palimar gram panchayat, Kaup Taluk, Udupi District.
The approach road to Palimar gram panchayat office from Palimar main road and Kachcha road at Sannoni village were converted to concrete road at a cost of Rs 15 lacs under the Community Infrastructure Development activity – one among the CSR activities of Adani Foundation. The roads were jointly unveiled by Soumyalatha Shetty, president of Palimar gram panchayat and Kishore Alva, president and executive director of Adani Group.
Later Kishore Alva spoke and informed that every year APL – Udupi TPP is earmarking Rs 3 crores under its CSR for taking-up the development works in the field of Education, Health, Promotion of rural sports and Community Infrastructure in the surrounding villages of Udupi TPP. Out of total budget of Rs 3 crores, around Rs 1.10 crores is utilized for the community infrastructure development work as per the action plan provided by respective Grama Panchayat. He also told that as on date around Rs 1.30 crores worth development works under infrastructure development category has been completed by Adani Foundation.
President Soumyalatha Shetty thanked Adani Foundation for extending CSR benefits to Palimar GP.
Palimar GP vice president Rayeshwar Pai, panchayat development officer Sridhar, former panchayat president Gayatri Prabhu, members Sujata, Satish Devadiga, Yogananda Kukyan, Jayanti S. Kotiyan, Rashmi, Krishnakumar Shetty, Adani Power Limited AGM Ravi R Jere and Adani Foundation’s Anudeep were present on the occasion.
