Mangaluru: Three fold celebrations at Mount Carmel Central School

Mangaluru, Nov 2: In a spectacular showcase of unity, culture, and festivity, the students of grade VIII E, VII A, B, and C at Mount Carmel Central School, Mangaluru enthusiastically hosted a grand celebration to the seniors, marking Karnataka Rajyotsava, Rashtriya Ekta Diwas and Diwali.

The event was nothing short of remarkable as it brought together the essence of these three significant occasions under one roof. It commenced with a warm welcome, as the students, filled with exuberance, greeted the esteemed chief guest, Harish Motukana, a journalist, with a resounding applause.

To set the tone for the festive event, a soulful prayer was offered, invoking divine blessings for the auspicious day followed by a traditional welcome through a mesmerizing dance. The audience were then cordially welcomed by the charming hosts, Niharika and Roydan.

The chief guest was introduced during the welcome address and a symbolic gesture of respect was extended to him with the presentation of a flower sapling.

In a creative and engaging manner, the students skilfully conveyed the profound significance of the three celebratory days. They also paid tribute to the golden celebration of Karnataka’s statehood, emphasizing the importance of this historic milestone.

A captivating skit was performed by the students, providing a glimpse into the life and remarkable achievements of the Iron Man of India, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, emphasizing his invaluable contributions to the nation’s unity and integration. The celebrations continued with the students showcasing their remarkable talents through an incredible mime and graceful dance performances that radiated the sheer joy of all three occasions.

The significance of Diwali and how this festival originated was highlighted through a skit and a dance. The choir contributed to the melodious atmosphere with their harmonious voices, enchanting the audience with a medley of songs.

The chief guest Harish Motukana, in his enlightening address, congratulated the students of grade VII and VIII for showcasing an awe-inspiring program. He urged the students to develop a sense of pride and respect to the State of Karnataka, its language, harmony and abundance. He urged everyone to stand united, reinforcing the state’s tradition of celebrating festivals, notably Diwali, which symbolizes the triumph of light over darkness.

The event was gracefully concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks rendered by Ciana Viola Menezes and Pulugurthi Ashish Roy, expressing gratitude to everyone who made this celebration possible. The event was expertly compered by students of both the grades.

The event culminated with the entire gathering, proudly singing the state anthem, fostering a sense of unity and pride in the rich heritage of Karnataka.
