Brahmavar: Kids’ sports meet organized at GM Vidyaniketan Public School

Brahmavar, Nov 3: Kids sports meet was held at GM Vidyaniketan Public School on November 2.

Students of pre-nursery to grade 2 participated with much enthusiasm and sportsmanship.

Manoj U, an alumnus of GM who is working as a programme cognitive analyst in Bengaluru, was the chief guest for the event.

He lighted the torch and inaugurated the sports event and said that children should spend time playing outside instead of sitting inside the room and looking at mobile phones. Parents should encourage children to engage in sports along with learning to enjoy childhood, he said.

School principal George Kurian unfurled the school flag and said that children learn life lessons outside the classroom. He said that social and moral values will be learned through sports and physical and mental health will increase.

Prakashchandra Shetty, chairman of the school management board, wished all the young children good luck and congratulated the parents who came to encourage their children. On the occasion he said, “Along with marks, sports are very important in the life of students. GM institutions has been organizing various activities for the all-round development of children, for which parents should encourage them continuously.”

Fun competitions were organized for the parents. Prizes were distributed to the winning junior athletes. Preeti, vice president of PTA, parents, teachers and students were present in the sports event.
