Udupi, Nov 4: Kasturba Hospital, Manipal, proudly announced the recertification for nursing excellence from the National Accreditation Board for Hospitals and Healthcare Providers (NABH), Quality Council of India. This esteemed recognition was presented by Dr H S Ballal, pro-chancellor, MAHE Manipal, and Lt Gen (Dr) M D Venkatesh, vice-chancellor, MAHE Manipal, who handed over the certificate to Dr Suba Sooriya, head of nursing services and nursing team of Kasturba Hospital Manipal.
The ceremony was graced by the presence of prominent dignitaries, including Dr Sharath K. Rao, pro-vice chancellor, Dr PLNG Rao, Dr Padmaraj Hegde, dean of KMC Manipal, Dr Anand Venugopal, chief operating officer of teaching hospital at MAHE Manipal, Dr Avinash Shetty, medical superintendent, and Dr Suneel C Mundkur, advisor for quality implementation at Kasturba Hospital, Manipal and senior officials of Kasturba Hospital, Manipal.
The recertification bestowed upon Kasturba Hospital by NABH represents a remarkable achievement in maintaining international standards across all aspects of nursing care settings. This includes patient care, patient education and awareness, nursing resource management, quality of nursing care, effective communication and guidance, as well as stringent infection control practices. The nursing excellence certification is a prestigious programme developed and implemented by the National Accreditation Board for Hospitals and Health Care, Quality Council of India. Its primary goal is to provide comprehensive nursing care that encompasses health promotion, disease prevention, and therapeutic nursing care. The programme ensures the delivery of safe, competent, and ethical nursing care with compassion and comfort to all patients within the hospital and the broader community.
