Brahmavar: G M Vidyaniketan Public School organizes annual sports day

Brahmavar, Nov 6: GM Vidyaniketan Public School's 19th annual sports meet was held on November 4 at the school's well-equipped stadium GM Arena. The chief guest of the sports meet was Jeevan Kumar Shetty, director of physical education, Navunda Government Undergraduate College. He lit the sports torch and inaugurated the event.

Speaking on the occasion he said, “GM outdoor sports arena gives a feeling of national, international level sports stadiums. Sports are a science. Sportsmen are like soldiers."

Sudeep Shetty, beat forester of Sankaranarayan forest department, was the chief guest of the valedictory ceremony, he distributed prizes to the winners and said that “GM is the largest educational institution in the coast, which is emphasizing on sports along with education revolution."

George Kurian, the school principal said that through sports, skills development, mentality to face defeat and win equally grows. Besides, it helps in better learning, he said.

Prakashchandra Shetty, the president of the school management committee, wished all the sportspersons and wanted all the children to participate in all the school activities and make achievements and increase the fame of the institution.

Pranav Shetty, principal of GM Global School, Nagaraja Somayaji, president of PTA, vice president Preeti, parents, teachers and students were present at the sports event. The Medha team of the school won the championship.
