Puttur, Nov 6: Department of Business Administration and institution’s Innovation Council of St Philomena College Puttur effectively launched its association activities on November 3 at the PG Seminar Hall of the College with an aim of equipping students with the essential knowledge and abilities required for pursuing careers in innovation and entrepreneurship.
The one-day session on “Entrepreneurship and Innovation as a Career Opportunity” was the key feature of the activity.
The chief guest and resource person for the day was Bharath Pai, the managing partner of Shree Laxmi Engineering Industries, who shared his excellent knowledge and experience in the fields of innovation and entrepreneurship during the session. In particular, he addressed the importance of invention and patents in the corporate sector, as well as the development of fundamental entrepreneurship skills. His use of current case studies to illustrate his lessons inspired and encouraged the students to pursue start-ups and entrepreneurial endeavours.
Dr Antony Prakash Montero, principal of St Philomena College, presided over the program. In his Presidential remarks, he urged the students to pursue their interests and underlined the need for creative thinking as a vital component of coming up with original ideas. He also emphasized how important it is to evaluate oneself in order to recognize one’s strengths and shortcomings.
Prashantha Rai, the convener of the Management Association, and Dr Radhakrishna Gowda, the head of the department of Business Administration, assistant professors of the department, Pushpa N and Mr Abhishek Suvarna, also graced the occasion.
